An idea to energize TAFWA

Hi, Ron, and fellow TAFWArs In the course of posting a comment on Jesse Squires' track blog, I had an idea that might have legs. See my original comment here: http://track-superfan.blogspot.com/2008/11/whither-track-field-news.html My idea: Create a team of track writers, drawn from TAFWA membership, to investigate issues within USATF and even IAAF. This would emulate what Investigative Reporters and Editors Inc. did in the mid-1970s in an effort called the Arizona Project. Briefly, a bunch of investigative reporters came together in the wake of the Don Bolles murder to complete his work in looking into organized crime in Arizona. I'm not arguing that USATF is harboring assassins. But its governance and leadership have raised many serious questions -- only a few of which where addressed by the series in TheFinalSprint.com. And heaven knows T&FN won't pursue these stories. Would TAFWA have the interest, horses and balls to explore sensitive issues in track and field? Just wondering.
